User Experience is as important as Content

A recent PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) survey shows that Content is still the most important factor for subscribing to a SVOD service. User Experience is second.

As more cord cutters and shavers are moving to online services, they’re finding that it’s not always easy to move from their television with a simple coax cable plugged in, to configuring their TV or media streaming device to connect to their home wi-fi connection, sync up their account across multiple devices and troubleshoot issues between their internet connection, their device and their TV. These might always be a struggle, but it might make it worth all the work and headache, if the the user interface for their favorite subscription video on demand service is easy to use.

So, as more and more content is becoming available online, at affordable prices, providers have to be reminded to make the user experience better. Make it easy for users to subscribe and to cancel. Make it easier for them to get to content they want to watch. Make it easier for users to see what the newest content is. Keep the interface simple and intuitive. Oh, and while you’re at it, make the price affordable.
